History happened at the bowl tonight. For the first time, Coulee Region pros met in the World Championship finals. 24 year-old Livi Pappadopoulos bested 16-year old Aini Anderson in a nail-biting 3-1 victory, described by fans and commentators as one of the “best finals matches ever.”

18 year-old Marcus Heineck won the men’s division over 3x World Champion Anthony Polentini in a five fall match on the three log.

In the afternoon, La Crosse’s Shane Burns missed a top four spot by a few steps to eventual third place finisher, Sam Polentini (3-2). After two grueling back bracket matches, Connor Birdsong faced Burns in the 5/6 spot. Burns won the match 3-0, placing fifth.

Birdsong also brought bronze hardware back to the Coulee Region with a blazing 14.3 in Boom Running. Anderson also placed third with a 15.72.
